Why Learn Tajweed?

Applying tajweed is a must.

Whoever does not recite the Qur'an with tajweed is sinning.

For the Qur'an the Lord (Allah) revealed with tajweed

And likewise from Allah this has come down to us

Tajweed is also an adornment of recitation

It is also an adornment of adaa' and qiro'ah.

Tajweed is giving the letters their rights

that is, from each of its substances and mustahaq properties

Tajweed is giving the letters their rights

that is, from each of its substances and mustahaq properties

And perfected without any coercion

gently in speech without being contrived

There is no difference between the recitation of tajweed and that without tajweed

but the practice of a person with his lips.

“Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (radhiyallahu 'anhu) said: “The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever recites one letter of the Quran will be rewarded with one good deed for that recitation, and one good deed will be multiplied by ten such good deeds, and I did not say الم one letter, but Alif one letter, Laam one letter and Miim one letter. But Alif is one letter, Laam is one letter and Miim is one letter.”

(narrated by Tirmidhi and authenticated in Sahih Al Jami', no. 6469)

People who are proficient in the Qur'an will be with Angels

“The one who recites the Qur'an fluently will be with the noble Angels

and always obedient to Allah. But the one who reads the Qur'an with a stammer and finds it difficult to read, he will be rewarded with two rewards.”

(HR Muttafaqun 'Alaih)
